Pursue the Holy Spirit!

We didn’t go to prayer meeting at the South church tonight since we were so tired and always on the go lately.  We need to ‘collapse’ and rest – just as we did!

Sept. 13 – Thank God William got paid and we got groceries and many things we needed!  Yeah for God’s provisions!  We don’t have much, but we are very thankful for what we do have.  We have a roof over our heads (and it doesn’t leak), we have a bed to sleep in, we have a fan in the window (thank God for that – it has been soooooo hot lately), and we have a stove to cook food, and a bathroom with a tub!  What more can you ask for!
Our neighborhood and the spirit therein!

We met with some of the leadership at the Springs North Church today – they shared with us about their mission and goals and we shared with them what we see God doing, why He brought us to this area, and where we see as our mission field.  Originally, we thought God was bringing us to Colorado Springs to work with the poor and homeless there and for William to go to school on campus.  We had no idea He was going to switch it up on us!  William goes to school online (which he hates!), we started a ministry house and art gallery in Fountain (that was way out of left field!), and we see that we will be joining up with the Springs South church to support them in any way we can.  Of course, as we do in any city we go into, we contact all the area churches, try to bring them together in unity for prayer, to encourage them any way we can with their efforts at evangelism AND bringing the Body to repentance, restoration, prayer, and fasting.  We believe that God doesn’t want his body broken to pieces, trying to operate disjointed, sequestered away in their own little boxes, mostly ineffective in reaching the lost.  Time is short and we need to be about the Father’s business – that of winning souls – reaching the lost, showing them that Jesus is the ONLY way, not only for salvation, but for EVERY answer in their lives!  We need to quit living out our lives believing God OWES us something – 2 cars, a nice house stuffed with things, 2.3 kids, the dog, and a job that earns plenty of money.  That is NOT what God promised.  He promised to meet our needs and we’ve seen Him do that for us!  He did not give us the prosperity message to satisfy our flesh, but rather, to go out and make DISCIPLES, HEAL the sick, CAST OUT demons, and PREACHING the Good News!  The disciples were FILLED with the Holy Spirit and in order to get filled, we must GO AFTER HIM as if our lives depended on it (which it does!), not after the worldly idols nor to satisfy our souls!  I want to be one of those to whom Jesus says, “Well done good and faithful servant.”
