New Beginnings

(We put this on facebook)  “Ok, here it is! We found the place in Fountain, CO to house our ministry! We will call it “God’s House of Vision” and from this 560 sq ft storefront we will: minister to the poor and homeless, preach the gospel, bring in concerts (small of course) and sing praises to God, use it as my art studio (I’m painting more Christian/American Themed), sell Christian books (give away bibles), give bible studies, give lessons (music and art), etc and etc. It is right down the street from a food pantry, homeless/poor support, thrift store (whom we will connect with) and right across the street from City Hall! How perfect! Every week, there is a farmer’s market there, fall festival, Christmas festival, etc. Lots of opportunity to minister to every walk of life!  So here’s the deal: we need support. We need $500 in 2 weeks to get the place and it is only $500 a month. Our goal is to only make enough to break even (we want to minister to people) and when God blesses us with more, so be it. So, we would ask that you pray and ask God how He wants you to support us with this.”   The whole family wants to get in on the deal – Josh helping getting it decorated/set up, Sherri making doilies to sell there, maybe Nichole teaching an illustrating class, etc.  God will make this happen and give us ideas to make money to keep it going – getting donations as well.

July 13 – Cheri King committed to donating $50 a month to us (told us on facebook).  God reminds me not to despise small beginnings.  God says it will happen, it will.

I'm a little behind in my devotional readings, so today I read these two:
Our Daily Bread, June 14, 2013, James 2:23
"Not long ago, I heard about a billboard along the highway: “God is an imaginary friend – choose reality. It will be better for all of us.” Obviously, the bold statement compares Christians to children whose vivid imaginations invent a make-believe companion. But is that what God is – an imaginary friend?
Actually, the evidence favors His reality. Ponder these ideas: the creation of the world shows there is a Designer behind the universe (Rom. 1:18-20). The conscience indicates a Lawgiver behind each human’s sense of right and wrong (Rom. 2:14-15). The creativity we express in music and art reflect the same attribute that the Creator posses (Ex. 35:31-32). Christ reveals what God is like in human form (Heb. 1:1-4). And the communion or fellowship of the Spirit in the Christian heart manifests the reality of God (Gal. 5:22-23).
The Bible tells us there will be those who deny the reality of God (2 Peter 3:4-6). But James reminds us of His reality and how the Old Testament believer befriended Him: “’Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness’ And he was called the friend of God” (James 2:23). Have you met the redeeming God? He gave His Son to become your real, eternal Friend (John 15:15). – Dennis Fisher"

The Dove Daily Devotional, June 19, 2013
“That the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled. “ Mt. 26:56 Trust your Bible. It’s true!
The death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus fulfilled no less than twenty-nine different Old Testament prophecies. The odds of that happening are virtually impossible! Mathematician Peter Stoner explains it this way: “If you were to cover the state of Texas two feet deep in silver dollars, then on one, place a mark. What is the probability that a blindfolded person could, on their first attempt, select that dollar? That’s the likelihood of just eight prophecies being fulfilled in one lifetime. And Jesus fulfilled twenty-nine of them in one day!” Let’s look at some of the prophecies He fulfilled: (1) “They pierced My hands and .. . feet” (Ps. 22:16). (2) “They divide my garments … and … cast lots” (Ps 22:18). (3) “In that day … I will make the sun go down at noon, and … darken the earth in … daylight” (Am 8:9). Jesus predicted both His death and His resurrection. He told His critics, “Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days … the temple he had spoken of was his body” (Jn 2:19-21). Jesus orchestrated every event, including Judas’ betrayal, the high priest’s hypocrisy, and Peter’s denial. Why? “That the writings of the prophets might be fulfilled.” So you can trust your Bible because it’s true. And something else is true too. God is “able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine” (Eph 3:20). Note the words “immeasurably more.” What seems impossible to your at the moment, is all in a day’s work for Him. So start trusting Him to work on your behalf."

Yes, God is working on our behalf!
