We studied Eph. 4 this morning. As
being a part of the body of Christ, it is disheartening to us to see such
division among believers – each in their own little box, closed off from the
world, some in a ‘country club’ type of fellowship, denominations separated out
rather than coming together in unity!
William has tried for years to bring them together in prayer meetings
and fasting events, to very little results.
We keep trying, however. Being in
a new town, we hope to start a prayer meeting here at the ministry house, bring
in all denominations and going out in unity to evangelize a lost world.
The other thing that is disheartening to us, is the fact
that pastors/teachers don’t receive the apostle and the evangelist into the
church for the most part. So many who
are called by God are stranded by the wayside, left to fend for themselves,
unsupported emotionally and/or financially, having to struggle constantly just
to make themselves heard in the church.
These offices are not done away with.
Quite the contrary, we think that many more are being called, so much
so, there will be an army of evangelists on the streets – on every corner –
calling the body AND the unbeliever to repentance and prayer, to make way for
the great harvest!
I started painting the upper wisteria branches – I spent so
much time on the ladder and not standing back viewing what I’ve done, I
realized I made the upper branches so much bigger than the lower! That does not happen in nature! I’ve got to fix that. The wall is so textured with stucco, that it
is hard to paint on. I have to use a
stippling technique and can’t make smooth lines. This is more difficult than I
thought it would be. I look to the upper
part of the wall and over the window and think, “what have I gotten myself
into!” This is sooooo much work!
