Today
is our grand opening – we opened at noon.
I had a million things to finish up, so 4 of the Hayes kids came with me
and were a wonderful help. Not only
that, but Nikki hung up 6 of her paintings.
Ryan and her finished up the mural inside – actually, just finished up
Jesus – there is still a lot of the mural to finish, but that will come later. What is soooooo cool is that most of the things in here were donated to us! I have 3 artist's work displayed (19 paintings) and will be getting more in the next week or so.
On the
way to the store to finish up there, I stopped at a couple yard sale and found
a wonderful tablecloth, storage shelves, wall racks, and small bookcase (all
for $7) that will be perfect for the store.
It’s really coming along! We
opened up and in the afternoon, we had 2 people come through looking at the
artwork. They were complementary of the
place. I know things will start
slow. We couldn’t find a guitar player,
so I played my flute for our ‘live music’ night and a few people came in to
hang out. We hope to find musicians that
will come in and rotate on a regular basis so that we can have a variety of
music on Fri/Sat nights every week.
