Labor Day

Today was the Labor Day parade that went by our store.  William dressed up like a pirate and handed out over 100 flyers about our store to the people sitting there watching the parade.  There were bunches of people who came through here, including several mentally handicapped people in a group.  The person who is in charge explained to me that there are 3 different groups, all part of this ‘home’ in Colorado Springs.  She was very interested in having them come here for art lessons every week, so I told her I would call her next week and set a time for them to come in.  She said that her boss would be interested in donating to our ministry.  That would be awesome!  They all enjoyed sitting in our air conditioned store for quite some time and watching the parade go by our front window!  Several church people came by, we talked about evangelism, gave them a few of our pamphlets, and they went to the park to do some evangelism.  David and the family showed up as well and they went out to do some evangelism and to hand out flyers for our store.  We went down to the park later after we closed up.

Sept. 3 – We finally moved into apartment today!  I’m glad for David’s house the past 2 months, but it is just a bit too noisy around there – we needed a bit more quiet (beings we’re in our 50s and all!).  When I was a kid, I never could understand why ‘old’ people couldn’t deal with noise!  Now I understand.   I spent the day running around all day – moving stuff into the apartment.  Didn’t even go into the store.  Here we just opened and I established my hours, and I’m not even there.  We had prayer meeting  tonight.  Josh came as did a new girl – Krystal.  She’s 23, lives nearby with her mom.  She has a hunger for God, goes to the Baptist church nearby, and wants to get ‘more’ of God – William talked with her about the baptism of the Holy Spirit.  We need to find his booklet on that so we can give it to her to learn more.  In the mean time, we told her to get a concordance and look up the Holy Spirit and study scripture about Him.  Tonight, there was a ‘healing’ drum circle across street on the lawn of the City Hall, put on by the lady around the corner – a new age healing center.   It’s interesting how the enemy set up camp right across from us the same night we had our ‘first’ established prayer meeting, praying that God take this city for His own!
