I got paid more from IWU than I expected, which paid off the
bank loan (finally!) and even a small bit left over to buy a few things for the
studio. I got a plastic drawer caddy for
my oil paints so I can finally have something to put my pallet on and start
painting!! Carol donated money to the
ministry yesterday – WOW, a whole $250!!
We are so blessed. She had asked
me a week or so ago to paint a specific painting for her – one of Jesus and a
lighthouse symbolizing Jesus as the light of the world. I finally got started on that for her today –
a roughed in start. I can’t do people
very well! I am not happy with the way
the figure turned out. I need to work on
this.
We also got a mop and broom! We
went to the goodwill and found a filing cabinet, a chair (padded!) for me to
use when painting, 3 air pots (for serving hot drinks), and a small angled
stand I can use when I paint with watercolors.
Things are starting to come together – I hope to get more chairs and some
tables soon! I was even able to get a new air mattress –
I’ve been having such a hard time sleeping and now am looking forward to
comfort again!!
Went to the Springs
Church tonight with Josh, Nikki, and Sarah and watched a performance of the
Cross and the Switchblade – put on by 85 members of the cast and crew from New
York City. Most awesome
performance! A most excellent
story. I was struck by so many
similarities of what we do in the streets.
I was struck by the fact that God could use a man like David Wilkerson
and people like us to impact so many people.
So humbling.
